Thermolysis is a controlled radiofrequency modality used by Dermal Clinicians to prepare the skin prior to cosmetic extractions. When applied precisely, the micro-thermal energy can:

• Soften compacted debris at the follicular opening
• Reduce surface tension around the lesion
• Support a smoother, low-pressure extraction process
• Minimise unnecessary trauma to surrounding tissue

This technique does not diagnose, treat, or cure acne or medical skin conditions.
Rather, it functions as an adjunctive preparation step that enhances comfort and supports best-practice cosmetic extraction methods.

At La Pelle, our Dermal Clinicians utilise thermolysis within scope, following evidence-aligned protocols, infection control standards, and skin-integrity principles to ensure each extraction is performed safely and professionally.

Laser hair removal involves the use of light-based technology to target hair at the follicle. Today Ash is working in SR mode, which are two different energy-delivery settings used for treatment flow and client comfort.

SR mode (Standard Repetition)
• Delivers controlled pulses
• Commonly used for the initial pass
• Allows the clinician to work methodically across the area

SSR mode (Super Smooth Repetition)
• Uses a faster pulse sequence
• Creates a smoother treatment sensation

Using different modes in clinic helps support a consistent treatment approach while maintaining comfort.

Your clinician adjusts settings such as fluence, spot size, pulse rate, number of passes and cooling, based on your skin type, hair characteristics and how your skin responds during the session. This ensures the treatment is appropriate for you on the day.

Laser hair removal requires multiple sessions because hair naturally cycles through different growth phases. Treatment plans are individualised and may vary depending on the area and your consultation.

At La Pelle, all laser treatments are performed by trained dermal clinicians using evidence-informed protocols and device settings tailored to each client.

As two women leading a skin and health clinic, we expected to build treatment plans, deliver results, and support clients through their journeys.
But God had more in mind.

We didn’t just witness skin transformations,
we witnessed women soften, heal, unlearn shame, gain confidence, restore dignity, and rediscover hope.

We carried their stories, their tears, their victories, their “no one ever listened to me before,” their skin flares, their postpartum journeys, their hormonal battles, their chronic conditions…
and God carried us.

Every consultation reminded us why La Pelle exists:
to treat the skin, support the body, and nurture the whole person, mind, health, and spirit, while keeping Christ at the centre of everything.

This year, God refined us too.
He healed parts we didn’t know were broken.
He stretched us in leadership.
He grew our faith, our patience, our capacity, and our compassion.

He reminded us that this business was never built for our recognition, but for His glory and purpose.

We close 2025 humbled.
Grateful.
Strengthened.
Awake to miracles we nearly missed.

Adult Acne — Why it Happens and Why It’s Different
Adult and premenopausal acne is one of the most misunderstood skin concerns. While we often associate acne with teenagers, research shows that 40–55% of women aged 25–45 experience ongoing breakouts.

Unlike adolescent acne, adult acne is influenced by a mix of internal and external factors including hormones, stress, inflammation, genetics, cosmetics, microbiome changes, and shifts in the skin barrier. These breakouts typically appear along the jawline, chin, neck, and perioral area, and may flare around menstrual cycles, postpartum, contraception changes, high-stress periods, or during premenopause.

Adult acne is chronic and it’s completely normal to feel frustrated or confused by sudden or persistent breakouts. Dry Needling for Shoulder Biomechanics, Trigger Point Release & Impingement Prevention

Dry needling isn’t just “a needle into a knot.”
It works at the neuromuscular, biochemical, and biomechanical levels.

In the shoulder region, dysfunctional motor end plates can create taut, shortened muscle bands known as trigger points. These points reduce oxygenation, alter load distribution across the shoulder, and disrupt scapulohumeral rhythm — especially during elevation.

This can contribute to:
• subacromial impingement
• reduced upward rotation of the scapula
• altered glenohumeral mechanics
• referral pain into the neck, arm, or shoulder blade
• movement restriction and fatigue

How dry needling works:
When the needle enters a trigger point, it stimulates a local twitch response a rapid depolarisation of the muscle fibre.
This results in:
- normalisation of motor end-plate activity
- improved microcirculation and reduced ischemia
- decreased nociceptive (pain) signalling
- release of muscle tension and shortening
- restoration of functional movement patterns

In the video, our Myotherapist is targeting a key trigger point associated with impaired scapular mechanics. By releasing this dysfunction, we help the shoulder regain optimal upward rotation, reduce impingement risk, and support smoother joint movement.
